We are the largest Polish supplier of NX CAD/CAM & Teamcenter (2/3 of the market) and we started our cooperation with SIEMENS several years ago from these packages, translating the NX CAM 4.0 interface and creating the first Polish manual. We have already implemented the first Polish solutions for 3D metal and plastic printing and robots supported by NX CAD/CAM software packages.
NX CAM has specialised applications for programming CNC machine tools, milling machines, lathes, wire-cutting machines, milling robots and CMM measuring machines, as well as the latest solutions for programming 3D printers and hybrid machine tools.

Manufacturing with NX CAM

NX CAM is the CAM module of the NX software working as a fully integrated package with NX CAD or as a stand-alone CAM system. The NX machining module, according to a 2020 report by independent company CIMdata, has a leading position in the Aerospace, Automotive, Mold & Die industries. The number of NX CAM module workstations installed in companies worldwide is around 80,000, which, together with more than 30 years of industrial presence, is an undoubted experience capital supported by SIEMENS Digital Industries Software.

A top-level system
NX CAM is a high-end system that can be a part of a larger PLM solution based on NX CAD/CAE/CAM and Teamcenter, or can be an independent CAM (or CAD/CAM) workstation.

Polish interface
Modern interface, Polish language version together with a help system and Polish books allow a quick implementation of the system in practice.

Perpetual licenses
The way the software is licensed mainly includes perpetual licences that do not expire after maintenance (technical care and updates).

Price
The price of the software is adapted to the Polish market and, surprisingly, is at the level of middle-range systems.

Support for new technologies
NX CAM has packages for Additive Manufacturing (incremental manufacturing) and hybrid machines.

Scalable structure
The programme has a modular structure and can be adapted to the needs of the company depending on the machine park and type of production.

Virtual machines
NX CAM postprocessors enable a realistic simulation of parts processing in the 3D kinematics space of the machine tool - multi-axis milling machines and multi-tasking machines - based on the NC code - with the possibility to take into account the dynamics of machine movements!

NX CAM Features

NX CAM has a rich set of unique functionalities, which distinguish it from other software solutions available on the market. Fully integrated package with NX CAD or stand-alone CAM system.

Synchronous Technology
In each NX CAM package, direct editing of solid files loaded from any CAD system is available, i.e. 3D dimensioning and editing of these dimensions, changing rounding radii, hole diameters, deleting holes and radii, changing inclination of walls and pocket depths. We also work in the assembly environment as standard.

NC code-based machining simulation
An integrated, proprietary module for simulating NC code-based machine tool operation is a standard in multi-axis packages that is hard to find in other CAM systems.

Feed rate optimisation
The system can optimise the feed rate according to the actual cross-section of the layer being machined at a given time, e.g. in 3-5 axis milling operations.

Convenience of quick changes
Changing the position of the datum (the point relative to which the NC code is generated) or the feed rate without having to recalculate the path is extremely comfortable for the programmer.

Knowledge base
Copy machining operations between files using the copy/paste method.

Data exchange
NX CAM has as a standard the possibility to import native Solid Edge, I-DEAS, SolidWorks formats and bi-directional translators STEP, Parasolid, IGES, STL, JT, 2D DWG DXF.

Tool magazine
The tool magazine and machining operations support complex tool shapes, e.g. from standard cylindrical milling cutters to 10-parameter milling cutters with offset rails.

NX CAM Modules

NX CAM has a number of modules supporting code creation for CNC machine tools.

Milling
Modules for programming of milling machines, machining centres, hybrid machines in the range of 2.5-5 axes, also specialist ones dedicated e.g. to Aerospace industry with support for measuring probes. Milling machines with interchangeable heads (with different) kinematics are supported in one interface.

Turning
These are modules supporting 2-axis lathes and additional tools driven in CYB axes, also with supports, tailstock, counter-spindle and additional tool heads.

Wire cutting
Allows programming of wire cutting machines in 2- and 4-axis range. It is also possible to program plunge-cutting machine lines using special applications created by CAMdivision, which are linked to the Electrode Design module.

Milling robots
Modules for programming multi-axis milling and gripping robots.

Measuring machines
This module allows the programming of CMM measuring machines.

3D printers
Modern incremental manufacturing methods are already supported by dedicated NX CAM modules, developed together with 3D printer manufacturers.

Hybrid machines
Milling machines (also 5-axis), on which it is possible to use Additive Manufacturing (incremental techniques) and milling on one machine at the same time.

Verification of machining
This is a standard module in which it is possible to carry out material stripping with the possibility of allowance analysis, collision detection and feed control.

Machining simulation
The module for realistic simulation of part machining in 3D kinematics of the machine tool is dedicated to multi-axis machines. The simulation is based on NC code with the possibility of taking into account the dynamics of machine movements.

Post Builder
This is a module for the independent definition of post-processors in a Windows windowed environment.

Modelling
Each NX CAM package can be extended with the parametric modelling capabilities of NX CAD to create a complete CAD/CAM solution.

NX CAM perpetual licences

The method of licensing the software primarily includes perpetual licences that do not expire after maintenance (technical care and updates) expires.

NX CAM Foundation
The basic NX CAM license that serves as both the foundation and the viewer. Each NX CAM license is network-based and comes standard with, among other things, assembly environment, solid editing (Synchronous Technology), path verification, set of translators and post-processor wizard.

NX CAM 2.5 axis Milling
License containing basic milling and drilling operations typical for prismatic parts such as plates, bodies, castings. It has the possibility of indexing 4 and 5 axes.

NX CAM 3 axis Milling
This licence extends the capabilities of NX CAM with machining typical of tooling such as injection moulds, dies, electrodes.

NX CAM 5 axis Milling
The package contains operations from 2.5- and 3-axis machining to advanced 4- and 5-axis machining, including the simulation of machine graphics based on NC code.

NX CAM Total Machining
Package containing most of the capabilities of Milling, Turning and EDM.

NX CAM Turbomachinery
Specialised package for machining of elements such as rotor blades of aero engines.

NX CAM Turning
License for handling turning operations.

NX Wire EDM
Allows programming of wire cutting machines in the range of 2-4 controlled axes.

NX CMM
The special package for programming of CMM measuring machines.

NX CAM Probing
This licence enables the operation of measuring probes on machines such as milling machines and lathes.

NX CAM Robotics
Specialised package for programming milling robots with dedicated solutions for ABB, FANUC, KUKA, YAKASAWA with simulation of 3D robot model work kinematics.

NX CAM Additive Manufacturing
These are special packages for incremental programming of 3D printers and hybrid machines.
