Design with NX Mold

NX Mold is an integrated solution which uses most innovative tools and design techniques to help efficiently design injection and casting molds. NX Mold gives access to the knowledge base prepared in the form of libraries of parts which can be used at any stage of the design process. By combining the effective CAD environment with the mold design automation module, NX Mold effortlessly copes with very difficult geometries.

NX Mold has a specialist structure and can guide the user step by step through all design stages. It ensures flexibility of work and minimizes the risk of errors. It allows you to effectively control the entire design, from the checking of static collisions to the full kinematic simulation of the mold.

Fast, Flexible and Efficient Design
NX Mold makes it possible to use existing projects to design new molds. Since the model can be quickly substituted, the tool design time is reduced by half. 

Trouble-Free Work with Data from other CAD Systems
Thanks to the available synchronous modeling technology, NX Mold allows the user to very quickly implement indispensable changes in the model to improve its producibility. The imported model can be "machined", e.g., it is possible to remove radiuses, thicken faces, add angles, scale etc.

Advanced Analyses of Producibility
NX Mold provides the user with a number of proven analyses which enable precise search for vertical faces, faces with too small angles, spots to be provided with sliders or incline inserts, injection simulation etc. The results of the analysis are legible because they are presented in the form of HD3D, that is, visual reporting with graphic references.

Rich Database of Standardized Parts
The NX Mold suite contains a number of libraries of standardized parts from such worldwide manufacturers as HASCO, DME, MEUSBURGER and STRACK. The open structure allows the implemented libraries to be freely added and edited. We provide NX Mold with databases of parts from our domestic manufacturer FCPK Bytów, developed by CAMdivision.

Automation of Flat Drawings
NX Mold allows the user to significantly accelerate works on flat drawings (documentation). It creates automatic lists of parts, controls drawing properties, provides overall sizes of models, automatically creates projections and cross-sections, generates specifications of ejectors, produces automatic dimensions etc.

Platforms
NX Mold can be installed on the Windows or Linux and Mac OS system.

NX Mold CAPABILITIES

NX Mold enables you to use a proven mold design method which reflects the tooling designer's actual approach. It ensures that the work is done in an orderly and repeatable way for every tool. Its high efficiency allows you to shorten the time necessary to design by half, compared to traditional methods.

Model Preparation
NX Mold, which includes advanced modeling tools, allows you to quickly prepare the model with regard to its producibility, thanks to the breakthrough synchronous technology. It also contains a rich set of surface tools to enable you to quickly repair the geometry. NX Mold provides the designer with tools to deform parts to form anti-shapes in parts which exhibit tendencies to be distorted.

Validation Analyses
The great strength of the tools contained in NX Mold are the analyses done for each design stage. First, you can perform analyses to validate the geometry, angle values, face thicknesses, number of undercuts and minimum radius values. Then NX Mold allows you to analyze the mutual adjacency of the molding parts. As the final step, the design-aiding tools detect both assembly collisions and collisions to take place during the operation of the tool.

Parting Surfaces
NX Mold guides the user through the necessary steps to quickly create good quality partings. The tools allow the user to automatically make patch surfaces in remolded areas. Depending on the main parting surfaces, NX Mold automatically selects surface formation strategies depending on the edge shape and routing.

Plastic Material Delivery Runners
The NX Mold suite contains libraries of the main runners and gates. The designer defines the plastic material delivery runner path to obtain ready models and does not have to manually make them. The large diversity of gates makes their time-consuming modeling unnecessary.

Comparison of Models
NX Mold has a well-planned structure which enables a quick post-change analysis of the model. While comparing solids, NX Mold selects the faces which have changed. Faces and edges can be mapped, which makes it possible to substitute a part in the mold structure without losing the previously modelled partings and other operations.

NX Mold CONFIGURATION

NX Mold is a single consistent environment aiding the design of injection molds.

NX Solid & Surface
NX Mold contains advanced commands for solid and surface modeling. It enables operations from simple extractions through styling parting surfaces to advanced surface deformations.

Mold Costing
This is a special module for the pricing of tooling, e.g., injection molds, based on a 3D model.

NX Drafting
These are tools for making technical and workshop 2D documentation.

NX Electrode Design
This is a special module for creating electrodes in the NX CAD environment.

NX Easy Fill
To analyze injection, NX Mold uses solutions offered by Moldex software. NX Mold includes the basic surface injection (distribution of plastic material) analysis which can be expanded by several additional analyses (arrangement of gates, temperature, cooling time etc.).

NX Easy Fill Advanced
For more advanced users, NX Mold offers a large injection analysis (3D analysis) which covers injection and material packing (with pressure holding). Easy Fill Advanced includes several dozen analyses fulfilling the expectations of the more demanding users. In addition, every analysis is provided with graphs representing its  course.

Biblioteki norm
Standard libraries (HASCO, DME, MEUSBURGER, STRACK) can be expanded with the Polish FCPK Bytów developed by  CAMdivision.

Licenses

NX Mold License Suites

NX Mold can be expanded with additional licenses to enable e.g. an advanced injection analysis. The NX licenses are fixed (perpetual), that is, they do not expire after the expiry of the maintenance (technical assistance) package.

NX Mold Wizard
This is a floating suite of tools for the design of molds between other NX CAD stations.

NX Mold Design
Independent NX CAD station with NX Mold Wizard tools for the design of molds.

Tool Costing
This is a module for the valuation of tooling, e.g., injection molds and stamping dies based on 3D geometry.

NX EasyFill Analysis - podstawowa analiza wtrysku
Surface injection analysis performed to gather basic information about how the plastic material behaves during injection.

NX EasyFill Analysis Advanced - zaawansowana analiza wtrysku
Spatial (3D) injection analysis performed to gather advanced information about how the plastic material behaves in the nest. The analysis is delivered along with material databases which are divided by suppliers.

NX Electrode Design
Specialized environment for the automation of design of spark eroding electrodes.

FCPK Bytów
These are parametric 3D libraries of FCPK Bytów, developed by CAMdivision.

The NX CAD/CAM test version offers free tests of NX software which cover selected NX CAD, NX CAM and NX CAE suites or specialized NX Mold/Progressive Design type applications (design of molds and dies).

The offer is addressed to prospective customers who are interested in these solutions or wish to compare NX capabilities against the solutions which are currently being used, as well as companies already using NX software.

To be able to fully benefit from the NX CAD/CAM test version suite, we recommend using preliminary training, workshops or on-line consultations.
